Because your tinting comes with a scratch resistant coating, you might assume that it won’t really matter what type of cleaning materials you use, but this is a common mistake. Abrasive materials can still harm your tinting because the coating is only for normal wear and tear; it doesn’t protect against cleaning with steel sponges, for example. You might not be aware of it, but there are cleaning agents that can be just as abrasive as this material, including baking soda. Only ever use ordinary, soapy water to clean your tinting and you will save yourself the trouble of having to have your tinting reinstalled.

When you’re picking out your cloth, make sure that it is soft, and you might want to invest in a rubber squeegee to help you dry the glass quickly and easily; this is easy to do and it will prevent the cleaning agent from streaking your windows. Be sure not to use a squeegee that contains a sharp metal edge, or this could end up gouging into the film.
